The moment I heard the opening thump of bass…I knew I would be using this song for my film. But then those haunting vocals hit my ears…and blew my mind. It was like a punch deep in my soul. It’s hard to explain that feeling when you first hear a song and you immediately fall in love with it. Almost like you’ve known it all along. […]

I travelled 5500 km in six weeks exploring the vast landscapes of British Columbia and Alberta in Canada, always looking to place my camera gear in the most beautiful sceneries possible.
With 54.000 single photos shot along the way I created ALIVE – a timelapse film which takes you on a vivid journey through wild forests, along the shores of crystal lakes and up the hills of massive mountains.
By making this project, I want to raise awareness of our wonderful planet earth which we have the privilege to be part of. That’s why we have to take responsibility for it – for the place where we are alive.

[…[ Landscapes: Volume 2 is the second of a three part series. Every frame of this video is a raw still from a Canon 5D2 DSLR and processed with Adobe software. In Volume 2 I again show off my beautiful home state of Arizona and I also made several trips to Utah. This video has some iconic landmarks that we have seen before. I felt that showing them again with motion controlled HDR and/or night timelapse would be a new way to see old landmarks. […]

The first video of my Dolomites timelapse series featuring the beautiful mountains of northern Italy changing over the seasons. Winter is a tough time for shooting in high alpine environments over longer periods. Both for equipment and people. Though it provides a wonderful quiet when all the people return to the valleys for the night and you are the only one left on the mountain.

Over the last year The Steaming Boots Team has been capturing footage on their adventures in the Scottish Mountains. The majority of the landscapes have been captured from the summits of some of Scotland’s most stunning areas and in all conditions. In the process the team have enjoyed some amazing times as well as enduring the limitations of filming (i.e. extra kit to carry, loitering in blizzards and small issues such as keeping batteries warm !)

Be a part of it. A dramatic film about a wild and untamed landscape, a dream of exploration through Scotland’s endless horizons.

“Landscapes: Volume 3” is the final volume in this series (at least for a while). I hope you have enjoyed my work on this series over the last three years. It has been an amazing ride full of amazing experiences. I plan to continue shooting landscapes timelapses but putting together videos of this magnitude will be difficult to continue on a regular basis. Thanks for watching.

Can mountains shine on their own? A time lapse journey chasing the unique light of Dolomites, showing how it changes in different conditions and times.
It was shot during two summer vacations, between 2016 and 2017, for one month overall. It is completely set in Fassa and Gardena Valley, between Trentino and South Tyrol, in northern Italy.
